We left home in Shelby, NC this morning about 10AM and have made it to Crossville, TN, about 250 miles to complete the first day of our journey. Crossville is a little community in middle Tennessee located close to I-40. We are staying in a small RV Park named "Bean Pot Campground" I'm sure there's an interesting story behind the name which we'll have to research. We ran through rain coming across the Smokey Mountains and again in Knoxville, Tn. but had a good uneventful trip. We don't have any pictures to share on this post, but we plan to have many as the trip progresses.
We plan to make it to Paducah, Ky tomorrow, which will be another 250 miles. We are hoping to travel about 250 miles each day until we reach our first destination, Custer, South Dakota.We estimate it will take about 7 days to make the 1600 miles.
Our longtime friends, Al & Pat Kralovic, are traveling with us in their 5th wheel and am certain we'll have a great time traveling and sharing our adventures with them.
