"On the Road Again"!

Well, we have finally surfaced and are getting ready to hit the road again for more adventures and sights unseen by us. But first, let me catch our followers up to date since our most recent post last November. We spent most of the winter at Wilderness RV Resort in Silver Springs, Florida where we had a wet and somewhat chilly winter. The last month there was a keeper as the weather was more Florida like with warmer temperatures and lots of sunshine. Nonetheless, we had a wonderful time and hope to return this winter. We returned home In April where we have been busy with projects around our house and have managed several short RV excursions this summer. We have traded our trusty steed, our 2011 Chevrolet Silverado, for a new 2015 Silverado that is very similar to our 2011 except this one is a 3500 model with a single rear wheel axle. She also sports the Duramax diesel engine and Allison tranny. We installed air bags on the rear axle along with an onboard compressor system to operate the air bags. The air bags help the truck sit more level and enhance the ride when towing our fifth wheel. The tire pressure monitoring system we had on the 11 was transferred to the new truck. The system monitors the air pressure and temperature of the tires on our truck as well as the rig.  We have our fingers crossed our new ride will be as good as our previous truck, and feel confident she will. Our RV is pretty much unchanged from last year and has served us well so far.
That brings us to the current time where we are busy packing and making final arrangements for our next adventure. But, this one is entirely different in that we do not have an itinerary or route to follow. The trip destinations will pretty much be decided as the trip evolves, as we will be flying by the "seat of our pants".  We do however, have some areas we plan to visit. We are having to pack and prepare for both warm and cold weather as this trip will likely last well into the fall and will be visiting some areas of the country that are hopefully cooler than what our summer has been.
We are thrilled to report our granddaughter, Bailey, will be joining us for the first several weeks of this trip before having to come back home in time to get ready for her senior year at Crest High School in Shelby, NC. Bailey has indicated an interest in seeing Pennsylvania, so that will probably be our first destination.
For our new followers, our previous trip is archived on this blog and can be accessed by clicking on the archive link in the right outermost column. If there are some who would like to be deleted from our blog list, please drop me an email and I will be happy to do so.
So, sit back and buckle up as we hit the road to who knows where, but be assured we will have a great trip!
